The Barracks is a multi-purpose arts & studio space in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter, Belfast City Centre. You can find us on the lane in between the Black Box and the Duke of York. The Barracks is managed by Kabosh as their dedicated rehearsal and outreach space.

The Barracks is the perfect space for holding an audition, planning a workshop, rehearsing your next performance. Housing a 10m by 4m black studio space with integrated sound and lighting for rehearsals/workshops/auditions and small-scale performances; and a smaller 6m by 4m white studio space for meetings, workshops, readings, exhibition and design building work.

24 m2 – White Studio | 40 m2 – Black Studio | 50 People – Capacity

Hire includes both spaces, meeting tables, basic lighting, and use of the small kitchenette and WC. For further equipment hire or requests just get in touch.

The Barracks is on the first floor and so is unfortunately not accessible. Get in touch if you need further information to see if The Barracks is accessible for you. 

We have 3 tiers of pricing:

Individual Artists – Half-day hire slots to allow individuals access to a Creative Workspace.

Arts & Charity – For Community Groups and funded Arts Organisations to use for rehearsals or outreach.

Corporate & Commercial – Meeting Space or Studio Space for commercial projects.
